The Turkey’s Lament

A turkey lived on a farm with pride,
But his fate he could not abide,
He knew what was near,
And shed a sad tear,
As he awaited his Thanksgiving demise.

This limerick tells the story of a turkey on a farm who is aware of his inevitable fate as a Thanksgiving meal.

The first two lines introduce the turkey’s situation, while the third and fourth lines describe his emotions.

The last line adds a touch of dark humor to the poem.
