Besotted Beau

A besotted beau, quite the clown
Fell hard for a lady downtown
He wrote her a song
All day and all night long
Till her love for him, she had found

This limerick tells the story of a man, a besotted beau, who is infatuated with a woman he met downtown.

He is so in love with her that he spends all his time writing her a song.

Eventually, his efforts are successful and the woman falls in love with him.

The poem uses imagery of a clown to convey the main character’s playful and light-hearted nature.

The first and second lines introduce the character and his infatuation with the lady, the third and fourth lines describes the protagonist’s efforts in writing a song for her and the final line gives the conclusion of the story.
